The Horsham District is home to many top class drink producers including several top class micro-breweries, creating a wide variety of handcrafted and award winning ales, using finest natural and local ingredients and traditional brewing techniques to produce the finest quality local ales. Many of these fantastic brews can be found in Inns and Public Houses across the District as well as being celebrated at Ale and Beer Festivals across the South East of England.

This year’s Guide showcases the work of old favourites such as Dark Star (Partridge Green), Hepworths (Horsham), Kissingate (Lower Beeding), Weltons (Horsham) and Firebird (Rudgwick). Beer Essentials in Horsham sells a multitude of beers and ales from these local brewers.

Throw into the mix the multi award winning juice and cider producer Wobblegate, Gin makers Cabin Pressure Spirits and Trenchmore Farm based cider makers Silly Moo. So this year’s Festival beverage offer is something to savour.

Cabin Pressure Spirits are a husband and wife team from Horsham that produce small-batch craft gin in a cunningly re-purposed garden shed. They employ a vacuum method to distil at low temperature which preserves more of the complex botanical flavours that may be lost using the traditional approach. The result is a remarkably smooth, juniper-rich gin with a slight natural sweetness. Look out for Cabin Pressure Vacuum Distilled Gin and their distinctive white ceramic bottles in local shops, bars and restaurants, or come and meet them at the Big Nibble and taste the difference for yourself!

Silly Moo is a civilised farm house cider made in Cowfold at Trenchmore Farm. We blend traditional cider apples from the 1600 apple trees in our orchard with swapped, surplus apples – brought in from the gardens of Sussex. If you would like to join the swap full details on our Facebook and website pages. The name for our cider which is slightly sparking, medium dry and made from 100% apple juice with no added sugars or concentrate, came about as our cattle go a little bit silly when fed the left over pomace after pressing – which they absolutely love.
