As the Horsham District is 85% rural, one naturally expects an abundance of fabulous farms and farm shops producing and selling the most amazing fresh, local produce.
The Horsham District has become renowned for successful land-based businesses and the farm shop sector has steadily grown over the years to become the life blood of many rural communities, selling locally sourced products including fresh fruit and veg, fresh bread, oils, meat, wine, cider and ale, cheeses and other dairy products.
This year’s Food and Drink Guide presents a eleven of the finest examples of what the District has to offer in the farming and farm shop sectors.

We are a Sheep Dairy producing bottled pasteurised sheep milk and Friezee sheep milk ice cream in lots of flavours sold locally in farm shops and health stores. We also supply artisan cheese makers Golden Cross. Sheep milk is a naturally nutritious alternative, high in vitamins and minerals, calcium and protein. It rehydrates better than a sports drink and can be helpful to those with dairy intolerances as it has smaller fat molecules which are easier to digest. The breed of sheep we milk are called Frieslands. To our knowledge we are the only sheep dairy between Essex and Dorset.
We have just opened the farm on Saturday afternoons for local collections although we have put a minimum order on collections so as not to compete with our local retailers.

It’s traditional, reasonably-priced and family-run, headed by farmer David Exwood who has been farming at Westons since 1989. The shop offers the very best in home and locally reared meat, homegrown fruit and vegetables and lots of other high quality local and British produce.
