As the Horsham District is 85% rural, one naturally expects an abundance of fabulous farms and farm shops producing and selling the most amazing fresh, local produce.
The Horsham District has become renowned for successful land-based businesses and the farm shop sector has steadily grown over the years to become the life blood of many rural communities, selling locally sourced products including fresh fruit and veg, fresh bread, oils, meat, wine, cider and ale, cheeses and other dairy products.
This year’s Food and Drink Guide presents a eleven of the finest examples of what the District has to offer in the farming and farm shop sectors.

Bitten by the farming bug in 2012 we have been building up the farm since then. A mixed farm we are farming as sustainably as possible. Using our suckler herd of Sussex cows which we cross with Red Wagyu as mowers and feeders of the wealden clay fields. Adding thousands of tonnes of FYM and compost to the fields to build the carbon content, minimum tillage to allow the soil structure to improve and low inputs. Our arable crops include wheat and barley. This year we are trialling a heritage wheat and selling local flour, stoneground to Sussex bakers.
