PACKED WITH LOCAL PRODUCE GOODIES FROM ACROSS THE HORSHAM DISTRICT, OUR SIGHTS ARE SET HIGHER AND HIGHER TO MAKE EACH ICONIC FESTIVAL BIGGER ANDBETTER THAN THE YEAR BEFORE.
There’s no better way to kick-start September than getting out and about and celebrating all the gorgeous local food and drink we have in the Horsham District.
We’ve done all the hard work for you as the Horsham District Food & Drink Festival, which runs from 3 September to 2 October, will allow you to do just that. If you’re all out of ideas for creative home cooked meals and you’re looking to escape the kitchen for an evening or two, or maybe looking for days out for you and your friends or all the family to enjoy at one of our many visitor attractions, the Festival has your name on it.
The Festival programme is jam-packed with special offers, discounts and events laid on, just for you, by local businesses passionate about local produce. Our District is renowned for its rich local produce offer with award-winning vineyards, breweries, farms and farm shops as well as independent retailers, cafés, restaurants and pubs.
As if that wasn’t enough, we’re launching this massive feast with ‘The Big Nibble - A Slice of Sussex’ in Horsham on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 September. The local produce event offers a huge produce market, a range of demonstrations by local chefs and producers with free tastings and recipes, and a Horsham Beer Trail where you get to sample a whole host of beers for just £1. Activities on Sunday include free bus rides across the Horsham District, across routes recreated from the 60s and 70s, courtesy of Southdown Historic vehicles. For car lovers there will be the Great British Car Rally with Morgan, TVR and Aston Martin displays, plus a Nibble Trail with free tasters from participating restaurants, cafés, pubs and market stalls.
Give yourselves a treat or the family something to look forward to and start planning your Festival month now. Whether it’s going to a farm open day or a harvest fair, picking up some healthy lunch snacks from a farm shop or eating out, taking advantage of all the special offers or discounts, you won’t be short of things to do, eat or drink!
The Horsham District Food & Drink Festival is organised by Horsham District Council, but relies on generous support and sponsorship received this year from West Sussex County Council, Camelia Botnar Homes & Gardens, The Resident, Centre of Excellence for Regional Food & Drink at Brinsbury, South Lodge Hotel, Federation of Small Businesses, The Resident, Foundry Press Ltd, Horsham Advertiser, West Sussex Gazette, West Sussex County Times, South Downs National Park, Etc & Collabor8.
